2005 AUSS Singing Tour to Sweden

July 12. Borlänge

The Jussi Björling Museum in Borlänge. Ken (AUSS member) is the Vice President of the Jussi Björling Society - USA. With him are Harald Henrysson, the Museum Director (center), and Dan Shea, President of the Jussi Björling Society - USA (right), who just happened to be in Borlänge at the same time.

AUSS tour members listen to an interesting talk by Harald about Jussi Björling's life at the Jussi Björling Museum in Borlänge.

The Jussi Björling Museum houses many connections to the US and to the AUSS including this article in the Chicago Tribune, lauding Jussi's voice and a recording of the AUSS convention concert in 1960.

Stora Tuna Church outside of Borlänge, where Jussi and family members are buried.

Harald explains that this is the gravesite of Jussi's mother, Ester and Jussi's son, Rolf.

Jussi Björling's gravesite. Our chorus sang "Tonerna" at Jussi's grave to honor his memory. Jussi was known to enjoy choral singing.
